Read a short note from Dr. David Wang on Walk to Work Day:

Did you know that daily walks may reduce your risk of early death by up to 70%? A recent report found that people who take around 7,000 steps per day have a lower risk of dying compared to those who lead a more sedentary lifestyle.1 This Walk to Work Day, we celebrate the health benefits of walking to help ensure people have the opportunity to lead healthier and happier lives.

At UnitedHealthcare Global, we encourage our employees to stay active during the workday. For people living within walking distance of their workplace, incorporating a walk into the morning routine has many potential benefits, including psychological advantages. Just 15 minutes spent outdoors can improve a person’s confidence, mood and general outlook.2

UnitedHealthcare Global’s My Wellbeing programme encourages users to participate in different fitness challenges. Step challenges, for example, can be a fun and competitive way to track distances walked compared to their colleagues.
